Tonight’s Intercontinental Championship match between Seth Rollins and Jinder Mahal ended in a disqualification, after the Kingslayer opted for revenge over a clean victory.
Throughout the match, Rollins had to deal with numerous attempts at outside interference from one half of the Singh brothers, before taking a steel chair shot to the gut from the “Modern Day Maharaja” himself. He was able to rally back and looked to have the match put away, but decided to nail Jinder with shot after shot from the chair used against him the last two weeks on Raw. The challenger would ultimately win the bout, but not the title.
After chasing off his foes, Rollins took a moment to celebrate his “victory” atop the Raw announce table. A few fans even started singing “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” to the 32-year-old champion, however the party was cut short after a brutal attack from Elias, who came out of nowhere to explode his signature guitar across Seth’s back, sending him flying to the floor.
As previously noted, with Elias not participating in the Money in the Bank ladder match at WWE’s upcoming pay-per-view, and Jinder Mahal already booked to compete against Roman Reigns in singles action, the Drifter is expected to face Rollins for the Intercontinental Championship in Chicago next month.

That guitar shot was certainly not the birthday song @WWERollins was expecting to hear tonight. #RAW pic.twitter.com/jq1zTviPGI
