The topic of Becky Lynch generating a positive crowd reaction after turning on Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam at this week has been a hot one, and most recently, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross weighed in on the situation on today’s episode of Busted Open Radio on Sirius XM Fight Nation 93. Below is what Ross had to say on the New York City crowd cheering Becky this week:
“Both of them are main event level folks, and it just seems to me that based on the crowd reaction, which I still weigh heavily, it’s like a market report, a focus group. They bought a ticket, which wasn’t cheap, they came in, they parked, all that good stuff. I think maybe the roles are reversed a little bit. I think Charlotte has a great personality to be a heel, and I think she would have a blast doing it. And they’ve shown you can be a TV villain and still do outside projects, and sell merchandise and all those things, so there’s that negative that’s been erased.”
