This year’s WrestleMania is quickly shaping up to be the biggest WWE show in history, with what looks like 18 matches in total spread across what will likely be a 7-8 hour event that may, or may not include a multiple-hour Kickoff Show.
As of right now WWE has announced 8 different championship matches, although we still don’t have opponents for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships, the RAW or Smackdown Tag Team Championships, or the Intercontinental Championship. On Tuesday it was announced that Asuka would defend the Smackdown Women’s Championship against the winner of a 4-way match between Carmella, Mandy Rose, Naomi and Sonya Deville.
Dave Meltzer is reporting via the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that as of right now, John Cena is still written in for a match at WrestleMania, although his opponent, which is likely decided by this point but is being kept a secret, hasn’t been announced. He has also confirmed with sources that the women’s battle royale will return for the second year in a row, which Naomi won last year.
