After WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes passed away back in 2015, WWE decided to honor “The American Dream” by creating the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament for the NXT brand. The first tournament saw Samoa Joe and Finn Balor emerge as the winners, then The Authors of Pain won the tournament the following year. The tournament did not take place last year, but WWE still honored Rhodes by reviving the Starrcade and WarGames concepts that he created during his time working in WCW. It looks like the Dusty Rhode Tag Team Classic tournament is not dead by any means. In fact, the next tournament will be taking place very soon.

Impact Wrestling has lost a ton of talent in recent weeks. The likes of Jeremy Borash, EC3, and Bobby Lashley all appear to be on the way to WWE or are already working for the company. There could potentially be even more departures from the promotion. PWInsider recently revealed that several upcoming talent contracts are about to expire. Eddie Edwards’ deal expires this month, but he has since revealed that he is staying with Impact. Alberto El Patron’s contract expires in April, which is interesting since he recently revealed in an interview that he wants to come back to WWE at some point. The report also mentions Eli Drake is another name to watch out for as the months go by.
