Below is a transcription from the Q&A portion of today’s All Elite Wrestling panel at the C2E2 convention in Chicago, IL. You can check out the entire 52-minute video at this link.
Can you provide an update on AEW running international events?
Cody: “I said in an interview the other day, 2020 for sure [in the]UK. Very likely three different cities, but for sure 2020 in the UK. Canada, we have a great partner in CSN. Also, Tony owns the Four Seasons.”
Nick: “He’ll let you know he owns it. Whenever Toronto is mentioned.”
Cody: “I will give you $100 if we don’t make it to Canada this year, for sure. Pretty sure we’re going to make it. Toronto, Montreal, even Pacific Northwest.”
Cody: “I fell in love with my wife in the Air Canada Center parking lot. She got the indication that I was into her, and she decided to shoot her shot. I gave Aksana the half-hug as we were leaving, we’re in the parking lot, and I gave Brandi a huge and she blew in my ear. And I know. I didn’t happen for like months later, but I knew in my heart.”

Cody: “You mentioned Danhausen. I had to ask Ethan Page who that was, because he’s all over my Twitter feed constantly. That’s probably going to be the guy. He’s an Impact guy, but Ethan Page is somebody that’s very special. I think he has a lot to offer.”
Excalibur: “I like Aramis, from Mexico.”
Is there any update on the AEW video game?
Nick: “If Kenny Omega was on the panel he would have a better answer for that.”
Cody: “You guys want an AEW video game? Anything that you guys have wanted from us, we have made great efforts to do. So when it comes to the video game, I will say this – there is a very specific type of game that people want. There is a very specific engine. It takes time. Just be patient, and I bet that Kenny Omega will provide a wonderful announcement sometime soon, that has lot more details, and less vague.”
Are there any “old time” matches that you might want to resurrect in AEW?
Cody: “If you watch the PPV tomorrow we’re probably going to be announcing a very ‘old school’ match, that’s probably going to make some other people very mad. But it’s AEW, and we’re doing it anyways baby!”
Cody Rhodes vs. Wardlow, Steel Cage Match
Cody: “The cage was WAY too high. What guy thought, ‘Oh, it needs the extra three feet!’ Get the…”
Matt: “I remember that night. They lowered the cage and we get in there, and Nick and I are looking at it like – this is just ridiculous.”
Nick: “I tried climbing it, and it’s too high for me!”
Matt: “So we see Cody standing outside the ring, and you can just see he’s a mess. And we said, ‘Dude you’re not doing the Moonsault off that thing, right? Like you cut that?’ And he said, ‘Oh, I’m doing it.’ How are you even going to get up there! So we’re watching from the back, and I swear to god it looks like a body falling off a building.”
Cody: “People paid their money.”
Who’s idea was it to put Chris Jericho with the Inner Circle?
Nick: “The day after All In we had a secret meeting with Tony and his father, Matt and myself, Brandon Cutler – it was a small group. That night Matt and I were actually discussing storylines, and the idea was for The Elite to feud with Jericho and a group. So it was actually that day.”
Matt: “We didn’t know who would be in the group. That all kind of just slowly came together. We knew that episode #1 was going to end with a big cliffhanger, with a new, big wrestling group headed by Chris Jericho. Very early on.”
