WSMX-TV out of Nashville did a story on Tennessee’s list of the 500 biggest child support offenders in the state, and Ricky Morton’s name made the list. Morton is $64,900 behind in child support payments. He was put in jail for four months last year for being delinquent in child support. The story noted that he appealed to wrestling fans to help him out with money. A close friend of his opened up a website on his behalf last year for people to donate money to help him pay the bills. However, the person trying to collect money from him said in the story, “His fans evidently weren’t supporting him that much, because we haven’t been able to collect but about $5,000 over the pretty long life of the case.”
Abdullah the Butcher, who turned 70 years old last November, came out of retirement to wrestle in a cage match at the Bad News Allen Tribute Show on May 25th in Cochrane, AB. It wasn’t a pretty sight. It took a half hour to get the cage up, and Abby was so fat that they had to put up three sides of the cage, roll him into the ring after the match started with a brawl on the floor, and then put up the fourth side. The first time they rolled him in his back fat got caught in the ropes and they had to roll him out and try again. It was said to be really sad as he was almost completely immobile.
