— The new roles for Eric Bischoff and Paul Heyman are said to be very different from the roles held by head writers like Brian James, Ed Koskey or even Dave Kapoor, reports the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Bischoff and Heyman are reporting directly to Vince McMahon and are said to be responsible for everything related to their respective brands, including merchandising ideas, media publicity and brand management. Heyman is also already steering the overall creative direction of Raw even though Koskey remains the lead writer. Vince ultimately signs off on everything. Bischoff for now is not expected to be involved in anything related to creative. Both men’s roles are pretty much equivalent to Executive VP roles which includes “tremendous benefits” and they are positioned higher than anyone previously in any sort of “lead” positions with either brand.
