MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead wrestling team puts its unbeaten dual record to the test on Tuesday when it hosts Division III power Augsburg for a match at 7 p.m. at Alex Nemzek Hall.
MSUM, which is receiving votes in the latest D2 poll, is 2-0 on the season with wins over Dickinson State (33-9) and Jamestown (41-0).
Augsburg, which is ranked No. 2 in the Division III wrestling coaches polls, is 1-0 in duals, with a 41-3 over Waldorf on Nov. 20.
Junior Angel Vega leads the Dragons with a 13-6 mark on the season, while sophomore Gerad Fugleberg is at 11-5. Junior Casey Williams is 8-3 while Jesse Punchochar is at 6-2.

Last Time Out: MSUM Has Solid Day at Dragon Open
Redshirt freshman Jesse Puncochar finished second in the White Division at 174 pounds to lead the MSUM wrestling team at the eighth annual Dragon Open Saturday.
Puncochar won his first match, pinning Jesse Brusch in just 11 seconds. He followed with a 7-2 win over Logan Henning of Augustana, who was wrestling unattached. He added a 5-1 win over Trey Griffin over St. Cloud State to advance to the finals, where he lost 6-2.
In the 125-pound White Division, freshman Mitch Dunlap took third. After receiving a bye, he pinned Connor McLaughlin of Regina in 58 seconds before losing to Jamestown’s Joey Murillo, 4-2 in the semis. He came back for a 3-1 win over Josh Farr of Rochester Community College in the third-place match.
Senior Jacob Bennett took fifth in the Red Division 157, while in the Red Division at 141 pounds, junior Angel Vega was fifth.
Next Up: The Dragons will compete in the Grand Canyon Duals on Jan. 5 in Phoenix, Ariz. MSUM will compete in four matches that day.
