According to a report by Wrestletalk.com, after this past week’s NXT U.K. TV Tapings, WWE has offered new contracts to several NXT UK Talent that are alleged to include pay raises but at the same time severely restrict them from competing in other UK Wrestling Promotions.
The report suggests that under the terms of the new deals, it will prevent NXT UK Talent from working anywhere else except for WWE “partner groups” such as PROGRESS, ICW & wXw. Even though they would be allowed to wrestle for these promotions, WWE has apparently only green-lit them in competing in non-televised matches. These restrictions do not apply to every wrestler – only those who were offered new contracts.
NXT UK Talent under these new deals reportedly won’t be able to wrestle against talent who are contracted to promotions such as ROH & NJPW or any other promotion that WWE considers as competition. They also won’t be able to perform for a promotion if there isn’t a paramedic there. All these changes are expected to have a significant impact on The UK wrestling scene and the smaller indie promotions will be hit hard.
