9/17/19 WWE 205 Live Recap

The show opens with a video recap of Drew Gulak retaining the WWE Cruiserweight Championship against Lince Dorado and Humberto Carrillo this past Sunday night at Clash of Champions. The opening credits roll. Aiden English, Dio Maddin, and Vic Joseph are on commentary.

Match #1 – Singles Match: Lince Dorado vs. Ariya Daivari
Daivari slaps Dorado across the face, but Dorado comes back with a series of rights and sends Daivari to the floor. Dorado dives onto Daivari and then takes him down again with a moonsault from the apron. Dorado drops Daivari with a hurricanrana from the barricade and then tosses him back into the ring. Dorado goes up top, but Daivari moves. Dorado delivers an elbow and then drops Daivari with another hurricanrana. Dorado runs the ropes, but Daivari sends him to the floor. Daivari tosses Dorado back into the ring and slams him into the corner. Daivari goes for the cover, but Dorado kicks out. Daivari applies a headlock and then drops Dorado with a DDT. Daivari goes for the cover, but Dorado kicks out again. Daivari applies another headlock and slams Dorado to the mat. Daivari goes back to the headlock, but Dorado fights back and runs the ropes. Daivari applies the headlock again, but Dorado rolls through and gets a roll-up for two. Dorado goes for the Golden Rewind, but Daivari dodges it.
Dorado connects with a kick and then chops Daivari into the ropes. Dorado drops Daivari with a heel kick and a dropkick, and then delivers an enzuigiri. Dorado takes Daivari down with a cross-body and goes for the cover, but Daivari kicks out. Dorado goes up for the Shooting Star Press, but Daivari cuts him off and slams him to the mat. Daivari goes for the cover, but Dorado kicks out. Daivari charges, but Dorado dodges and delivers a superkick. Dorado hits two moonsaults and misses a third, but kicks Daivari in the face. Daivari comes back with a slam and goes for the cover, but Dorado kicks out. Daivari goes for the hammer-lock lariat, but Dorado counters ith a roll-up for two. Daivari comes back with his own pin attempt for two and then power bombs Dorado to the mat. Daivari goes for another cover, but Dorado kicks out again. Daivari sets Dorado up top and climbs, but Dorado fights free. Dorado sends Daivari to the mat and hits the Shooting Star Press for the pin fall.
Winner: Lince Dorado

Footage of Tony Nese attacking Oney Lorcan two weeks ago is shown. Lorcan says Nese tried to take him out, but he is still standing. Lorcan says Nese hurt him, but not nearly as bad as he is going to hurt Nese tonight. Lorcan says when he finishes with Nese, he is going after Drew Gulak and the Cruiserweight Championship.

Match #2 – Singles Match: Jack Gallagher vs. The Brian Kendrick (w/Akira Tozawa)
Kendrick drops Gallagher to the mat and, but Gallagher comes back and works over Kendrick’s arm. Kendrick comes back and applies a side-headlock, but Gallagher sends him off the ropes and takes Kendrick down. Gallagher drops Kendrick with a back-body drop and then sends Kendrick to the floor. Gallagher slams Kendrick into the barricade and tosses him back into the ring. Kendrick comes back with a kick that sends Gallagher into Tozawa. Gallagher tells Tozawa to go backstage, but Kendrick attacks Gallagher with a kendo stick.
Winner via disqualification: Jack Gallagher
-Tozawa asks Kendrick what he is doing, but Kendrick keeps the attack on Gallagher going. Kendrick locks in the Captain’s Hook with the kendo stick, but Tozawa breaks it up. Tozawa tosses the kendo stick to the floor as Kendrick leaves. Tozawa checks on Gallagher, but Kendrick comes back and attacks Tozawa with the kendo stick.

Humberto Carrillo is interviews backstage. He says he had the match on Sunday won, but Gulak stole his moment. He says he is disappointed, but if he had Gulak one-on-one he would have won. He says he will get another opportunity and he will become the Cruiserweight Champion.

Match #3 – Singles Match: Oney Lorcan vs. Tony Nese
Lorcan goes after Nese as soon as the bell rings and delivers a series of right hands in the corner. Lorcan clotheslines Nese to the floor and goes after him, but Nese slams him into the ring post. Nese delivers a back elbow and slams him into the barricade. Nese slams Lorcan into the barricade again and then tosses him over the announce table. Nese gets back into the ring, as does Lorcan at the nine count. Nese stomps away on Lorcan and then slams him to the mat. Nese goes or the cover, but Lorcan kicks out. Nese applies a rear chin-lock, but Lorcan gets free. Nese kicks Lorcan in the face and goes for the cover, but Lorcan kicks out. Nese keeps Lorcan grounded and goes for another cover, but Lorcan kicks out. Nese applies a body scissors hold, but Lorcan elbows his way free. Nese applies a waist-lock, but Lorcan gets free again. Nese punches Lorcan in the throat and drapes him over the top rope. Nese goes for the springboard moonsault, but Lorcan dodges it.
Lorcan comes back with a running uppercut and then delivers a hip attack in the corner. Lorcan delivers another hip attack and then a back elbow. Lorcan drops Nese with a Blockbuster and Nese rolls to the floor. Lorcan slams Nese into the barricade and then tosses him into the crowd. Lorcan slams Nese into the barricade again and then tosses him back into the ring. Lorcan drops Nese with a clothesline and goes for the cover, but Nese kicks out. Lorcan delivers a few chops, but Nese comes back with a headbutt. Nese goes for a pump-handle slam, but Lorcan counters and goes for the half-and-half suplex. Nese lands on his feet and double stomps onto Lorcan’s ribs. Nese goes for the cover, but Lorcan kicks out. Lorcan comes back and takes Nese down. Lorcan goes for a Blockbuster, but Nese cuts him off with an uppercut. Nese goes for the Running Nese, but Lorcan cuts him off with a dropkick. Lorcan puts Nese on the top and goes for the half-and-half suplex.
Nese delivers elbows and shoves Lorcan to the mat, but Lorcan comes back with an uppercut that sends Nese to the floor. Drew Gulak appears and trips Lorcan up and Nese rolls him up for the pin fall.
