class=”article_teaser__2t5do”>Both sides have started the season strongly and their first game in the Champions League should bring more goals on Wednesday night on Merseyside

Liverpool welcome AC Milan to Anfield on Wednesday evening in Group B of the Champions League as the Rossoneri make their return to Europe’s premier club competition after seven years.

The Reds meanwhile were quarter-finalists last season, knocked out in convincing fashion by Real Madrid, and Jurgen Klopp’s men will be aiming to reach the latter stages of the tournament once more.

Liverpool vs Milan latest odds

The last two editions of the Champions League have seen Italian sides take points from their group-stage visits to Merseyside.

Atalanta won 2-0 at Anfield last year while Napoli recorded a 1-1 draw in 2019.

Milan are priced at 5/1 (6.00) with bet365 to pick up a victory, with a Liverpool success offered at 1/2 (1.50) and the draw at 7/2 (4.50).

The hosts are without teenager Harvey Elliott who suffered a serious ankle injury in the weekend win over Leeds United, while Roberto Firmino and Neco Williams also remain sidelined.

Former Chelsea man Tiemoue Bakayako had to go off injured during Milan’s victory over Lazio on Sunday and is unlikely to be able to feature, although another ex-Blues player Olivier Giroud should be clear to feature having recovered from coronavirus. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been ruled out through injury.

Both teams have begun their respective domestic seasons strongly, with Liverpool claiming 10 points from a possible 12 and Milan recording three wins from three games.

The Reds’ three victories have all come without conceding a goal yet they were against modest opponents in Norwich City, Burnley, and Leeds.

The most challenging game Liverpool have faced was against Chelsea which ended 1-1 and Milan will feel they can score on Wednesday night.

Stefano Pioli’s team have scored eight goals in their three games, with five different players finding the back of the net and the seven-time champions of Europe should be backed to get on the score sheet once more.

Both teams to score is priced at 7/10 (1.70) while combining this with over 2.5 goals sees the odds rise to evens (2.00).
