Women of Wrestling is a pro wrestling company that’s set for a TV premiere on January 18. WOW boasts Los Angels Lakers owner Jeanie Buss as Executive Producer and is created by David McLane, the man who created GLOW, The Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. WOW will call AXS TV home.
WOW began in 2000 on syndicated television in various American markets. The company went to a digital format in 2015 and began airing a show on Youtube in 2016.
WOW features an all-female roster, with characters that seem to come straight out of comic books. The company actually uses a superhero format for its personalities, many of which are too outlandish to be real. Much of this harkens back to GLOW of course, whose comedic characters were silly and oftentimes, bizarre.

But WOW may, or may not, be taking a different route this time. The trailer implies a more serious tone to the show, though that does not mean the company is indeed making changes to its format. Popular pro wrestling star Tessa Blanchard is featured on season one and she is also working behind the scenes as a trainer for the company.
