As previously reported, former world champion Matt Taven has opted to stay with Ring of Honor, closing the door on months of speculation as to where he would land once his contract with the promotion expired.
Dave Meltzer in the newest Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that while there was interest from WWE in signing Taven, ROH made him a substantial offer in the neighborhood of “two to three times” what top stars in NXT are making right now.
Taven, 34, won the 2013 ROH Top Prospect Tournament which included relatively unknown names at the time that quickly took off – names like ACH, Silas Young, Adam “Hangman” Page and QT Marshall, who is now an Associate Producer for AEW.
