While it wasn’t definite, the plan as of last week was for Brock Lesnar to be the number one draft pick for RAW. The reason WWE ended up pushing him down in the draft order was said to be because of the negative media publicity that Lesnar generated for his drug test issues related to his UFC 200 comeback fight against Mark Hunt.
According to Lance Pugmire of the L.A. Times, the drug that Lesnar tested positive for was Clomiphene, which is an estrogen blocker.
Had plans stayed the same for the draft, Lesnar was scheduled to go first, with Dean Ambrose coming in as the next pick for SmackDown, followed by Seth Rollins for RAW and John Cena for SmackDown.
Obviously the Lesnar situation changed up the order quite a bit, as Rollins ended up going first, Ambrose went second, WWE Women’s Champion Charlotte went third and AJ Styles went fourth.
