WWE Superstar and Bellator MMA Heavyweight contender Bobby Lashley recently commented on the talk about former UFC two-division world champion “The Notorious” Conor McGregor coming to WWE.
McGregor teased coming to WWE in a tweet he posted congratulating fellow Irish Superstar, Becky Lynch, following her own “champ-champ” victory in the historic first-ever women’s main event at WrestleMania 35.
Josh Gorton of Sky Sports recently caught up with Lashley and asked him whether or not he personally feels McGregor will ever make the jump from the MMA world to the pro wrestling world in WWE.
“I think he wants to [join the WWE],” said Lashley. “He’s been talking a lot. Conor is one of those guys that will shoot first and then shake hands later. He did it last year when he tried to call out the wrestlers.”
Lashley added, “I think he’ll have a good opportunity to come over here and shake things up, run his mouth a little bit and bring some notoriety. I’d like to see him in. It would be cool.”
The crossover athlete did, however, point out that if McGregor were to come to WWE, he doesn’t feel the Irish fighter is physically big enough to hold a major WWE championship.
“I think he wants to be here,” Lashley continued. “If he wants to be here he might have to try and find a role. We’re not going to put a big title on him, he’s way too small.”
