A.J. Styles won the first match in a presumed series of matches against John Cena at the Money in the Bank PPV Sunday night in Las Vegas.
The story early on was Styles “wrestling circles around Cena,” then both men kicked out of each other’s finishers – the AA and Styles Clash.
The ref was kicked out of the ring late, Cena scored a visual fall, and The Club hit the ring to drop Cena with the Magic Killer. Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows then draped Styles on top of Cena to score the pin when the ref returned to the ring.
It sets up a likely re-match, following up on whether Styles knew about/planned The Club’s involvement.
