In the latest installment of Coach’s Corner, Minnesota head coach Brandon Eggum offers his thoughts from last Friday’s dual with Penn State before looking ahead to this Sunday’s home dual with border rival Wisconsin. While looking at what’s happening on the mat, Eggum also offers some thoughts on other things happening around the program.
In preview Sunday’s match, Eggum notes the many high-profile bouts fans should expect to see at the Pav that afternoon, including ranked-versus-ranked matches at 125, 141, 165, 197 and 285 pounds. Some of the tilts he calls out specifically include the 165 match, where Nick Wanzek will get his shot at three-time All-American Isaac Jordan, and heavyweight, where Michael Kroells will look to avenge a pair of losses earlier this season to Connor Medbery.
Eggum also reminds fans about plans to celebrate the 2007 National Championship team at halftime of the home dual against Nebraska on Friday, Jan. 20 as part of the annual Alumni Night festivities. Tickets are still available for that dual. Click here for more information.
