According to Dave Meltzer in a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there will be a second Triple Threat Match announced for a singles title at WrestleMania 34 as United States Champion Randy Orton is currently scheduled to defend against Jinder Mahal and Bobby Roode. WWE previously announced a Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Title with The Miz defending against Seth Rollins and Finn Balor.
It was previously reported that Roode announced last Tuesday night on SmackDown Live that he would be cashing in his rematch for the United States Title at WrestleMania but there was speculation on Mahal being added to the match after he picked up a singles win over both Roode and Orton in the past two weeks. Jinder Mahal should be added to the match this coming Tuesday on SmackDown Live.
Regarding the finals of the Cruiserweight Championship Tournament at WrestleMania 34, the plan has been to do a match between Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali with the winner capturing the vacant WWE Cruiserweight Title. Cedric Alexander defeated Roderick Strong last Tuesday night on 205 Live to earn a spot in the finals at WrestleMania. Next week’s 205 Live show will feature Mustafa Ali taking on Drew Gulak to determine Cedric Alexander’s opponent. The Observer adds that the match between Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali has been the plan ever since the idea of the tournament finals taking place at WrestleMania was first put together.
