The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, PeTa are taking Stella McCartney under fire.
Stella, daughter of ex-Beatle Sir Paul and Linda McCartney, allegedly used partly kangaroo leather to produce her Adidas shoe collection. The new shoe range is supposed to be launched at London Fashion Week in September of this year. Several animal right organisations are protesting against the collection and are trying to stop its Fashion Week presentation.
The McCartney’s are known for their vegetarian background and their support to animal rights organisations. Since 1998, after her mother passed away, Stella started supporting animal right organisations, as it was a great concern to her mother Linda McCartney. From that moment she worked closely with PeTa to safe animal rights.
Stella McCartney’s doesn’t use any leather for her other collection designed under her own name for the Gucci Group. Nor has she in the past for her accessory line which was produced in 2006. For her designs she normally uses materials like nylon, vinyl, velvet and cotton.
