Shakhtar Donetsk coach Paulo Fonseca claims that Manchester City ‘do not have weaknesses’ as his side prepare to face the Premier League leaders in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Ukrainian outfit were soundly beaten by Pep Guardiola’s charges in Kharviv two weeks ago, City running out 3-0 winners to claim the title as the only English side to win away to Shakhtar in European competition in the process.
And Fonseca, acutely aware of the dangers City pose, knows that his team cannot afford any slip-ups when they meet their opponents at the Etihad.
“Manchester City do not have weaknesses,” the Portuguese boss told a press conference. “Playing against Manchester City is always very complicated because they are one of the best teams in the world.
“We are going to show our strengths and show you game – we have to make sure we don’t make any mistakes against a team such as City.”
Despite October’s defeat to the English champions, Fonseca remains a respected figure in the world of football management, having won successive domestic doubles with Shakhtar.
When asked if he would one day take up the opportunity to coach in the Premier League, the 45-year-old was unequivocal.
“Of course,” he said. “It’s a dream for every coach – it’s a big league, maybe the best in the world.
“I would like to come here one day and manage a team. I don’t know when that will be but I believe that it will happen.”
Of course, Fonseca had to reiterate his dedication to his current club.
“With regards to the team I would like to manage… I’m currently with Shakhtar. This is the team I want to manage.
“My heart and soul are with them but maybe in future I’ll consider managing another team.”
