Christian Eriksen is unsure if contract talks with Tottenham will be reopened, with discussions to this point having delivered no extension.
The 26-year-old playmaker remains tied to Spurs until 2020, but those in north London had been hoping to get fresh terms pushed through and avoid any unwelcome transfer talk.
They have failed in that quest, with La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid reported to be keeping a close eye on events surrounding one of European football’s most creative talents.

Eriksen has stopped short of addressing those rumours, but admits to being unable to speculate on what his future holds in England.
He has only recently recovered from a stomach problem and took in a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at the weekend from the bench.
Pushed by Danish publication BT for an update on deal discussions and whether he could be frozen out by Mauricio Pochettino, Eriksen said: “You must ask the coach about that. I do not know about that.
“I have my agent to take care of everything so I can focus on playing. We will see where it all ends.
“There have been talks with Tottenham many times. I cannot say if they are over. You must ask them.”
Quizzed again on whether he feels under any pressure to put pen to paper, Eriksen added: “I have not felt like they are going to throw me out yet.
“It is a business for the club, but that’s not something I’ve been thinking about.”
For now, Eriksen is focused on the present and potential Nations League outings for his country against Wales and the Republic of Ireland.
He is itching to get going, with full fitness returned on the back of his bench duty against Palace.
“If I were to make the decision, I would play every game, whether I could feel something or not,” added Eriksen.
“As a football player you would like to play each match.
“I have felt in my head that I would like to play, but then you listen to your body and accept it might be better that you do not play every game immediately after an injury. So I think it’s been good for my body and my head.”
