Posted on October 24, 2019

The Red Devils will be hoping to get into their groove by putting another win on the board ahead of their Champions League clash with Juventus

Manchester United make the trip to the south coast on Saturday to face Bournemouth as they attempt to gather momentum and climb up the Premier League table.

Jose Mourinho’s side will arrive at the Vitality Stadium looking up at the Cherries, who are three points ahead of them in sixth place after a strong start to the season.

However, they will be buoyed by their recent 2-1 win against Everton and eager to continue that form in order to improve their standing ahead of their Champions League clash with Juventus next week.

Indeed, a derby clash against Pep Guardiola follows the meeting with Juve, so they can begin to bolster their confidence by securing a positive result.

Bournemouth captain Simon Francis suggested that Bournemouth could be considered favourites going into their clash against Manchester United and he might have a point.

The Cherries are above the Red Devils in the table and have put together a six-game unbeaten run in all competitions, with five wins and a draw. United, on the other hand, have been worryingly inconsistent.

With just 10 games played in the league, Mourinho’s men have dropped points against Chelsea, Wolves, Brighton, West Ham and Tottenham this season already, while they were also knocked out of the Carabao Cup.

Erratic results on the pitch have been matched by the apparent disharmony off it too, with players such as Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez all butting heads with the their boss.

United are approaching a critical juncture in their campaign and the outcome of their game against Bournemouth could well have a profound knock-on effect, with Juventus and Manchester City to come next.
